The secret to a smooth VEP application is preparation. Having the right documents in the correct format can mean the difference between approval in 24 hours or weeks of back-and-forth with the authorities.
1. Vehicle Log Card (From LTA OneMotoring)
This is the most critical document. Download the latest version from the LTA OneMotoring portal, not an old photocopy. The document must be current and show all vehicle details clearly including chassis number, engine number, and current owner information.
2. Certificate of Insurance
You need to prove your vehicle is insured for the entire duration of your VEP validity. Contact your insurance provider to request a certificate that explicitly states coverage for travel to Malaysia. Standard motor insurance certificates may not be sufficient.
Don't Have the Time to Download and Format Docs?
This is the most tedious part of the process. Simply send us what you have, and we'll handle all the technical requirements for you.
Let Us Handle the Paperwork!3. Applicant's Personal Details
The system requires your personal identification details including full name (as per NRIC), NRIC number, contact information, and address. Ensure these match exactly with your official documents.
For Company-Registered Cars (Extra Document)
You will need an official Authorization Letter from the company on letterhead, signed by an authorized signatory. This letter must explicitly state that you are authorized to apply for and use the VEP for the specified vehicle.
Having these documents ready is half the battle. The other half is ensuring they are in the exact format and size required by the portal. For a full breakdown of the process, see our Ultimate Guide to the Malaysia VEP page.
